Noah teaches us about dog parks

Dog parks!

Dog parks and Disagreeing with our dogs are the topics of the week. We’re gonna dive in deeper on Thursday, but here’s a basic rundown. It really all comes down to the experience of the dog. If all of a dog’s interactions with other dogs are wild and chaotic, that often leads to reactivity or overstimulation and poor impulse control. While I have dogs play in my yard as both a part of rehabilitation and healthy dog interactions, it’s coupled with structure and lots of calm downtime. Like so many things, it’s not good or bad on its own, but the outcomes determine its usefulness. I don’t, and I won’t go to dog parks, but that’s because my backyard is one.
